English Leadership Quarterly, Volume 34, Number 4, April 2012
Editor Susan Groenke urges teachers to remember what it was that motivated them to read as a child and to keep reading as they got older. Reading for the sheer pleasure of it … have we forgotten that joy amidst the pressures of testing, APY, and mandates? In this issue, three teachers reflect on their personal reading lives and its impact on their reading instruction, and a few CEL members share their latest “reading for fun” books. CEL chair Pat Monahan also provides a synopsis of the CEL convention.
