Abstract

The authors of this issue, JoAnn Portalupi, Ann Marie Corgill, and JoAnne Searle, remind us that children not only want to write, but that it’s possible to teach them to write with confidence, competence, and joy. There is a need for deliberate instruction and playful experimentation, tools to honor the learning process, and rituals to celebrate children’s writing.
