Abstract

The NCTE Reading Initiative is a long-term professional development program that brings teachers, administrators, and trained literacy leaders together to engage in a study of the theory, knowledge base, and best practices for literacy teaching. In this issue of School Talk, participants from one Reading Initiative group in Virginia share some of their experiences and teaching practices, as well as their successes and frustrations.
