Abstract

This column presents the 2013 Orbis Pictus Award winners. The Orbis Pictus Award recognizes outstanding nonfiction books published for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. This award, established by the Elementary Section of the National Council of Teachers of English in 1989, is the first book award to honor nonfiction books written especially for children.
