Abstract

What is good preparation for written composition work in college? What plans are being tried for more effectively articulating high school and college teaching of writing? This article deals with these questions on a national basis. Dr. Grommon is an associate professor of English and education at Stanford University and an associate director of the NCTE’s Commission on the English Curriculum.
